Library – Documenting, informing, researching

Bibliotheken am Bauhaus Dessau / Yvonne Tenschert, 2012, Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau

Our public research and reference library with historical and contemporary collections and our project documentation center with a wide range of services collect working materials for the projects and supply literature and information to clients in the region and beyond.

The collections include books and specialist journals particularly on cities and urban design, architecture, landscape and environmental planning, but also on art, design, typography, graphics, photography, theater, etc. Systematic documentation of our projects in studies, plans, strategies, drafts and records of events provides exhaustive information and accompanies the project development process. The collection of plans includes current designs, maps and topographical maps.

Daily and weekly newspapers have been researched since 1991. The reading room has a number of workstations offering electronic search facilities for our collections, access to online catalogs, the Internet and CD-ROMs.

Please note that research is currently possible in German only.
