Rudy Deceličre

Living and working in the Masters' Houses

„Silent Waters“

May – July 2016

For Rudy Decelière, who otherwise usually works in darkened rooms, the residency in the light-filled Masters' House led to a change of media. The focus of his work was no longer sound, but the visual apprehension of atmosphere in the correlation of light, movement and space. The resulting polaroids and exposures on photographic paper entitled Silent Waters were also a kind of recapitulation of Decelière’s two-month journey on a cargo ship to China – although this experience was very different from his time in the Master’s House in Dessau.
