Bauhaus Kolleg XI
CIAM Urbanism II – Univercities, 2009/2010
Up to June 2010, under the title “CIAM Urbanism II – Univercities”, the Bauhaus Kolleg’s current programme will focus on the urban education infrastructures of post-war modernity. How is access to education and knowledge regulated in modern cities? In what way do urban structures influence learning in interaction with schools, universities and other educational institutions? The theoretical part of the course in Dessau-Roßlau will be complemented by excursions and selected case studies: at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) and the British Open University, collegiates apply their acquired knowledge on site and test its practicability. Combining the communication of methods and strategies on the one hand and the application in practice on the other, the Bauhaus Kolleg puts its participants in a position to actively intervene in conceptual, research and design-related spheres. On 24th June, the collegiates present the outcomes of their work in a public exhibition in the Bauhaus building.
