Andrés Jaque

[ Madrid ]

Spanish architect Andrés Jaque explores the role architecture plays in the making of societies. In 2003 he founded the Office for Political Innovation, an international architectural practice, based in New York and Madrid. They are working at the intersection of design, research, and critical environmental practices developing projects in different scales and media, intended to bring inclusivity into the built environment. Andrés Jaque practices architecture as the intervention on complex composites of relationships, where its agency is negotiated with the agency unfolded by other entities.

In 2018 he co-curated Manifesta 12 in Palermo. He is director of the Advanced Architectural Design Program at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and has also been visiting professor at Princeton University and The Cooper Union.
