// Invitation //

Isa Rosenberger lives and works in Vienna. She studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. She also teaches as a Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Isa Rosenberger's research-based artistic practice focuses on alternative readings of history and exposes silent, suppressed, lost or forgotten history(s). In her projects, she reflects – often from a feminist perspective – on intergenerational forms of knowledge, personal histories, and discourses that migrate across sometimes vast geographical distances and times. She brings different contexts, personal experiences and macro-political structures into comprehensible contexts and activates supposedly temporally or spatially disparate events in our present.

She has shown her artistic work internationally in numerous group and solo exhibitions; solo exhibitions have been held at Camera Austria in Graz, Bergen Kunsthall, Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, Grazer Kunstverein, Edith Russ House for Media Art in Oldenburg and Secession Vienna, among others. In 2008 she received the Otto Mauer Prize and in 2012 the Outstanding Artist Award for Video and Media Art.
