“The redesign of a fabric that another person has conceived requires a special empathy for this person and their approach to design.” Katharina Jebsen

The Leipzig weaver Katharina Jebsen has taken on a very special task in 2019: For the exhibition Versuchsstätte Bauhaus. The Collection, she created the reweaving of a tapestry by Bauhaus master Gunta Stölzl. For this, she did extensive research in the design drawings and familiarised herself with the materials of the 1920s. In this lecture, she explains her approach and her special relationship to Bauhaus weaving.
