Bauhaus Magazine
issue 12 – Habitat

Habitation is more than a functional roof over one’s head: the term “habitat” bundles the debates of post-war modernism around a readjustment of architecture. The Bauhaus Magazine No. 12 is devoted to historical and contemporary questions about habitation as a social practice and the relationship between human beings and the environment. What alternative answers to the functionalist living machine were and are being formulated – in the 1920s at the Bauhaus and elsewhere, in post-war modernism, today? And how can the demand for a holistic perspective be met when today the housing question and the climate crisis challenge us as a global community?
