in the foyer of the Bauhaus Museum, in the Dessau urban space and in the design shop of the Bauhaus Museum Dessau.

The exhibition "Bauhaus Open Stage Studios" (27.8.-5.9.2021) will feature video studies, sculptures and paintings by students from the Burg Giebichenstein Halle School of Art, Kuwasawa Design School Tokyo and Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, which were created in 2020 and 2021 as part of a workshop programme led by Torsten Blume, Matthias Lipek and Mikhail Lylov. The subject matter was the reflection and re-testing of form and movement studies of the historical Bauhaus stage as "physical exercises for designers". The pictures of the open air gallery "Wiedergänger/revenants" were also created in this context. In their "Metastories", the Burg Giebichenstein students interpreted Oskar Schlemmer's artistic figures in a new way. The artists of the Kusawa Design School, on the other hand, drew "Tsukumogamis", literally enthusiastic objects that develop a second, sometimes disturbing, life of their own 100 years after their production and disposal.

Algae dreams: For the Bauhaus Festival week, we travel to the future of food in LOKAL/LOKAL. Algae, as the oxygen producer, connect life on our planet and yet their importance is only now being noticed. In cooperation with the "creative pilot" Kirstin Knufmann from PureRaw, there will be a buffet with discoveries and tastings made from algae.

Works by master's students of choreography at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden. The unifying theme of the dance performances, each lasting 10-15 minutes, is the question of situations and possibilities of coming closer and being together, which have taken on additional relevance in times of the Corona pandemic and lockdown.

In 2018, the New York artist Lucy Raven had won the invitation competition Kunst am Bau for the Bauhaus Museum Dessau, which will open in 2019. The artist convinced the seven-member jury with her concept of the Lichtspielhaus – a dynamic light installation made of different coloured glass that interacts with the architecture of the emerging building by González Hinz Zabala (addenda architects). "The work introduces a new level, a '2nd curtain' of coloured glass panels artistically picks up on the architecture and further develops the design and usage possibilities of the museum foyer as an 'open stage'," the jury's statement read. The jury particularly emphasised the conceptual references to the Bauhaus, its stage and the colour studies of Josef Albers, as well as their opening to new media. As a cellist, Gerald Manske musically reinterprets the Lichtspielhaus, the arrangement of which is changed several times in the course of the performance. By using a composition by Ludwig Hirschfeld-Mack from 1922, he also interprets the "Lichtspielhaus" as a reminiscence of the reflective colour light games developed by Hirschfeld-Mack at the Bauhaus.

Electro-Tango Ballet, directed and choreographed by Celia Millán with the Ballet of the Sorbian National Ensemble Bautzen and Michael Ihnow as well as videos by Héctor Solari and the Tango Misterio Orchestra.

To the music of Astor Piazzolla, founder of Tango Nuevo (1921-1992), Celia Millán developed a dance piece with new, electronic musical components in which passionate movements motivated by tango rhythms meet the geometric-abstract spatial structure of the modular stage designed by Adolphe Appia. Both the tango as a dance and the Appia stage are reinterpreted.
