In the exhibition "Versuchsstätte Bauhaus" you can find this postcard, which shows the just finished consumer building of the Bauhaus housing estate Dessau-Törten. The building was constructed in 1928 according to a design by Walter Gropius. With its five storeys, it clearly towers above the settlement houses and marks the centre of the settlement, visible from afar. In addition to its function as a residential building, the building served to supply the residents of the settlement. In the context of this year's annual theme of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, Dr Werner Möller (research associate at the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation) will shed light on the significance and transformation of the building as part of the social and aesthetic infrastructure of the settlement.

Please note that entry to the event can only be permitted with pre-registration. On site it is necessary to fill in a registration form according to the Containment Ordinance for contact tracing.
