Craft becomes Modern.
The Bauhaus in the Making
The Supporting Programme

Craftsmanship is at work in almost every type of human activity, be it cooking, knitting, repairing, gardening, writing books or building. Ultimately, everyone is a craftsman: the differences between high and popular culture, between expert and amateur, between intellectual and manual labour are rendered obsolete. The Bauhaus let itself be guided by this democratic conviction. The supporting programme is thus framed as a Maker-Space for contemporary experiments, debates and discoveries about and in the process of ‘doing it your- self’. Visitors of all ages and cultures are invited to discover crafting for themselves, to develop, investigate and debate. All formats take place in the Maker-Space and are therefore directly integrated in the exhibition area.
