Works by the Bauhaus and its students
The collection of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation comprises around 40,000 objects and documents pertaining to the history of the Bauhaus, with a particular focus on the Dessau era (1925–1932). Some 100 selected objects are currently on permanent display in the Bauhaus building in an exhibition that focuses on the visionary educational theory of the Bauhaus and reflects the pioneering unity of education, the arts, architecture and product design by way of original designs and works by umpteen Bauhaus students. The exhibition simultaneously provides insight into the lives and work of individuals at the Bauhaus Dessau.
The collection will be presented in the framework of a considerably broader exhibition concept with the opening of the Bauhaus Museum Dessau in 2019.
