The Bauhaus Dessau Foundation is a non-profit foundation under public law. It is institutionally funded by the German Federal Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the State of Saxony-Anhalt, and the City of Dessau-Roßlau.

Bauhaus Museum Dessau
The construction of the Bauhaus Museum Dessau is supported by the Federal Commissioner for Culture and the Media, according to a decision of the German Bundestag and by the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The 25 million euros in construction costs will be borne equally by the federal government and the state. The property is provided by the city of Dessau-Roßlau. The builder-owner is the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation.
