Library

The library of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation is a public research and information library on the current work of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation. Since 2012, it is located in the reconstructed supermarket with dance café from the early 1960s directly adjacent to the Bauhaus Building. The library collection is being systematically and continuously expanded. The collection on the historic Bauhaus is now one of the largest on this subject in Europe. As a result of the project work of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, the library has also built up an extensive selection of works on urban planning, architecture, art, and design.

Online catalogue

A special feature of the Dessau site with the two libraries of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences under one roof is the joint union catalogue. This means that much larger collections can be accessed directly online, and not only in related subject areas in design and research. The two reference collections of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and Anhalt University of Applied Sciences can also be used physically in the joint library building without barriers.
