Clemens Krauss will end his 2-month long Bauhaus Residency at the Masters’ Houses with the presentation „Wash me, but please don’t make me wet“. He is the first painter in 84 years to live and work in the Masters’ Houses in Dessau.

Since 2016, the Bauhaus Residency encourages international artists to work and live in the Masters’ Houses. Krauss, who was invited by the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, in his strongly material-approached works discusses human identity, body and the production of humans in the debate of art politics and authorship. During the Bauhaus Residency these topics are framed into the history and the Masters’ Houses’ status of being a UNESCO world heritage site: expressionist painting coincides with the cultural heritage.
