In her talk, Regina Bittner described the point of departure for the pedagogical model introduced by the historic Bauhaus as a “crisis of knowledge”. The learning models proposed at the time continue to exert an enormous influence on the curriculums of schools of art and design. Afterwards, Katja Klaus and Philipp Sack presented the preliminary course module, designed by the Bauhaus Dessau Academy in 2020, in which historic models from the preliminary course at the Bauhaus Dessau are examined to determine their contemporary relevance.
