To protect the objects, no pushchairs are allowed in the exhibition Versuchsstätte Bauhaus. The Collection unfortunately does not allow buggies. However, buggies can be borrowed on site. Bags, backpacks and umbrellas are to be locked in the lockers provided, as are jackets and coats.

In the framework of a one-hour tour of the Bauhaus Building, built in 1926, visitors discover historic spaces that are usually closed to the public. These include the auditorium, the former director’s office* and a historic student’s room.

Visitor Centre in the Bauhaus Building.
The complex of Masters' Houses, built based on plans by Walter Gropius, exemplifies the avant-garde concept of living and epitomises the artists' colony of the 20th century. Walter Gropius, Oskar Schlemmer, Georg Muche, László Moholy-Nagy, Lyonel Feininger, Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee lived with their families in the Masters' Houses. In the visitor centre in the Konsum Building, visitors receive information about the Dessau-Törten Housing Estate and tips for their own tour.
The guided tour of the Dessau-Törten Housing Estate starts in front of the Konsum Building. During the 1.5-hour tour (approx. 2 km), a model flat in the Houses with Balcony Access and the SieTö I terraced house are visited from the inside (not barrier-free). Due to reconstruction work, the steel house can currently only be seen from the outside.
Please note that there are no sanitary facilities on site.
