The Ensemble Renibre will kick off the new music series Space for Sound – New Music at the Bauhaus Museum Dessau with the concert Seasons. Cenk Erbiner (viola and live electronics), Lissa Meybohm (voice) and Ivo Nitschke (vibraphone and percussion) will perform works by Chick Corea, Christopher Deane, Violeta Dinescu (premiere), Giya Kancheli, Knut Müller (premiere), Beste Özçelebi (premiere) and Annette Schlünz (premiere).

Three female composers and one male composer have each chosen a season with which they feel particularly connected and are dealing with the echo of the feeling of inner insecurity that remains as an emotional substrate after more than a year of pandemic in society. This very own cycle of Seasons is complemented by two solo pieces for viola and vibraphone as well as Giya Kancheli's Caris Mere for soprano and viola. The trio around the Dessau violist Cenk Erbiner combines contemporary music with improvisation and elements of jazz.

The seating arrangement is also unusual: there is no frontal confrontation between performers and recipients. Instead, the audience takes the trio into their midst. All participants in the room perceive each other and together determine the course of the concert evening, which partly relies on improvisation.
