The opening of the Bauhausfest minimal. Baukastenspiele. The opening parcours leads through theatrical performance spaces, performed by the Theater R.A.B. – Random Acts of Beauty (Freiburg/Breisgau) and inspired by the urge of the (Bauhaus) artists to redesign their future. Five players comment on today and tomorrow with form, colour, function and fallibility.

In dance performances of aerial artistry, material dance and mask play, two figures struggle with pigeonhole thinking and morph several times in search of individuality.

Figure and Room Building Games – Bauhaus Open Stage Studios 2020

In the exhibition, pictures, video installations, sculptural objects as well as text panels, which were created in 2020 as part of the Bauhaus Open Stage Studios. Performative Architectonics, become performative projects:

> Kuwasawa Design School Tokyo: Light Spaces in Motion
> Hochschule der Medien Stuttgart: Schlemmer X Beats
> Kunsthochschule Burg Giebichenstein: Meta Stories oder von Gestaltverwandlungen des Menschen im Ganzen (Meta Stories or of shape changes of the human being as a whole)

The pictures and picture series printed on large transparencies in the Meta Stories project are not only exhibited at the Bauhaus Museum Dessau. Mounted on construction fences, they are also shown on the streets, squares and paths between the Bauhaus Museum Dessau and the historical Bauhaus Building.

Part of the exhibition is a presentation of five winning contributions to the international architecture competition Post-Pandemic Performances. Gatherings in the times of Social Distancing. More information here.
