Wolfgang Thöner

Wolfgang Thöners research focuses on various areas of Bauhaus history and Bauhaus reception (particularly in East Germany from 1945 to 1990), especially on architecture, functionalism, visual arts and cultural history topics. He is also the curator responsible for numerous exhibitions on Bauhaus history, architecture, people and overarching themes, including contemporary artists. He is the editor and author of numerous books, essays, papers and lectures. Wolfgang Thöner headed the Collection department from 2009 to 2022.
